Draft Programme
The conference will look at different aspects of living/working with children and young adults with Pathological Demand Avoidance, to include strategies and education.
- Helen Colwell (Parent): day-to-day living with four children with disabilities: 2 with PDA, 1 with Autism and 1 with ADHD
- Professor Elizabeth Newson (Consultant in Developmental Psychology, The Early Years Diagnostic Centre): strategies for handling specific situations
- Jenny Coates (Headteacher, Early Years Centre, Sutherland House School): working with a boy with PDA from the age of 5 progressing through to integration in to mainstream at the age of 7
- Don Kent (Headteacher) or John West (Deputy Head, St. John's School, Seaford): Success in working with a boy with PDA from the age of 12 to age 14 who has now transferred to the Brighton site
- Terri Hall (Chartered Psychologist, Psychology Partnership)
- Charlotte Graham-White (Early Years Diagnostic Centre): Social Skills checklist - discriminating between PDA and Aspergers syndrome
